The front door swung open, revealing the shadowy interior of the building. Tables and booths were unoccupied, and the soft melody of song seemed to float gently in the space.
A curl of smoke floated over one of the booths, trickling out in the direction of the guest.
"Welcome to my shop." a voice called from within, amusement filled the tone.
Kuromi was a little nervous. She looked around and didn't see anyone else stopped, so the realization that the voice was talking to her made her that much more anxious. She debated running away, but she came for a reason and inside she went, following the creepy smoke.
From a back corner in the bar a shadowy figure emerged from a booth. It's shape was curved in some places, and elegantly long, with slow calculated movements. "It is, at times." called out the voice, with a soft laugh to accompany it. "Come in little one, so we can discuss what your wish."
Kuromi wouldn't admit she was scared, but it was obvious if anyone saw her. She crept towards the shape, hiding herself behind booths and tables as she went until she reached her. The woman was tall, but beautiful. Kuromi could only stand and look up at her, in admiration.
"I-I have a request, but it's not gonna be anythin' most people can do."
"My shop is not an ordinary wish granting shop." she smiled at the girl. With a smooth motion she came to sit on her knees, her back straight, with her head held up making her still seem tall. "What is your name?" the woman asked, her hands came to rest one over the other in her lap, finger nails matching the kimonos orange design.
"Ya know you're supposed to tell someone your name when ya ask for someone else's. But mine's Kuromi." She looked at her rather curiously with the description of the shop, and needed to understand more. "What kind of wishin' shop is this then?"
Yuuko chuckled at the little girl "That is not necessarily true, but I am Ichihara Yuuko." she tilted her head to the side, her long black hair fell like a curtain over her shoulder as she gave her guest a thoughtful look, then continued "This is actually a tavern." she grinned "But I can grant wishes, if the correct payment is given for them." her smile turned ominous and knowing as she finished her statement.
"Shall we visit my actual shop?" she asked, pointing upstairs with a long slender finger, a goofy grin came to her lips.
Kuromi was a little weary of her expressions, but followed behind towards the stairs anyway. "Hey, Yuuko... what kind of payment do you take? I don't have any money in this place." Nor did she really have any in her world - but Baku was good at earning it to cover her whims.
"A payment rendered must be equal to the wish being granted." the woman said as she reached the door across from the stairs and opened it. Inside there was a simple bedroom, which she crossed without much of a second glance, and went directly to the closet.
"An item, or action can suffice as payment." she added, opening the closet door and stepping inside.
The portal, lead to the closet in her sitting room.
"So, I give you somethin' you want in exchange for somethin' I want?" Seemed balanced. Though, when she thought about it, when she granted dreams, she got entertainment from it. And hopefully black notes.
Kuromi was hesitant at walking through the closet, but she followed nonetheless. She wasn't sure, but for some reason she was drawn to Yuuko. She was rather surprised that the closet led to a completely different place. Maybe she knew how to get home instead...
"In a way, the payment i receive go to my treasure room," she glanced over her shoulder at the small one before she continued to walk out of the room and cross the entrance of her home. "Payments given to me wait until someone else needs them for their own wish."
The room they entered was the kitchen, still sparkling white even with Watanuki missing for so long.
Kuromi didn't quite understand, but she felt that she shouldn't press her luck with any sort of indignant attitude. Though she did marvel at how nice the place was - and exactly what those treasures were and if they'd be worth getting her hands on.
"So what kinda thing would I have to give? I don't really got much..."
"It depends on the wish you ask of me." she took a seat at the kitchen counter, resting her elbow upon the table as she tapped her chin in a thoughtful way.
"Shall I grant your wish?" she smiled at the child, gesturing at the chair across from hers.
Kuromi climbed up the chair (literally) and sat across from Yuuko. She was nervous because she wasn't sure how this trade would go, but she could at least say what she wanted to find out.
"Um..." she twisted her hands together, "I wanted to be human, but for me to do it, there's a time limit before I turn into the thing I want to be the least."
(Kuromi's got a melody key that casts nightmare magic. it's all she's got to give unless you got something in mind)
"No mater their origin of species, girls never do seem entirely happy with themselves." Yuuko sighed, looking at the child in a thoughtful way. "Are you certain changing would make you happy?" she asked, reaching forward to place a long finger under the girl's chin.
"Is this form that cumbersome to you?" she asked, lifting the chin so their gazes met, so that she could not look away when she answered.

"Not really. But it's inconvenient. I don't have Baku to ride on, and I think Hiiragi-shama would like me better if I was in the other form."
