Joshua was taking a walk in the park when he spotted a familiar looking face. "Hello," he said.

((OOC: I do not remember if they've actually exchanged names or met, but Josh would have seen him at the hot springs thing.))

((Works for me!))

Sven glanced up. Aha! Perhaps he could do the practice he wanted. He gave Joshua a small smile an a tip of his head. "Hello. I'm not sure we've met, though I do recognize you." He held out his hand to the other. "Sven Vollfied."

"I saw you at the hot springs social," Joshua said and shook Sven's hand. "Joshua Christopher. It was a--very interesting occasion." Joshua glanced at the attache case. "You were doing security at the event. I imagine what happened there was quite a surprise."

"It stayed pretty quiet for the most part," Sven told him. For Sven the event had been rather dull. He'd seen some odd things in his life, so the events at the hot spring didn't really bother him. He hadn't gotten a chance to use any of his new toys either. It was a bit of a bummer.

"So people randomly changing shape against their wills is a common occurrence unworthy of comment where you're from, Mr. Vollfied?" Joshua asked curiously. It seemed a very strange attitude to take from anyone running security--even if they were running security for a teen aged boy who apparently wanted to be a gigolo when he grew up. "I'm sure you knew what you were doing, but to me, from a security standpoint, I think I would have been worried--unless the sudden transformations were part of the event? In which case, some warning would have been appreciated."

Sven shrugged. "There's a difference between changing shape and keeping your own mind or changing your shape and losing it. My partner was turned into a kid at one point in time. Sure, it worried me then, but it all worked out. I figured this would too. This place doesn't really seem to combine dangerous and humorous things anyways." That, and Sven would expect something stupid like that from Tamaki...

"I'm not sure I see the difference at all, Mr. Vollfied. But since you insist there's a distinction, I won't bother arguing it," Joshua said. "What sort of work do you usually do, back home in your own world?"

"Just Sven is fine," he told Joshua. "Mr. Vollfied makes me sound old." He shuddered. He wasn't that old. "I'm a sweeper. You can think of it as a bounty hunter I guess. It sort of surprised me when people here didn't know what sweepers were. They're rather common where I'm from. What about yourself?"

"I'm an exorcist of the Magdalen Order," Joshua said. "A job that in some cases is a great deal like being a police detective or a bounty hunter."

"Hmm," Sven mumbled, thinking about that. He wasn't really so sure what the connection was, but he'd take Joshua's word for it. "So you know how to use weapons then?"

"Pistols, shot guns, rifles," Joshua said. "I can also use swords, knives, black jacks and batons."

Hmmm, perfect. Sven grinned. "Well then, Joshua. Could I convince you to help me with some training?" It might take a bit to convince the young man, but it would certainly be worth it in the end.

"What sort of help?" Joshua asked curiously. A sparring match, maybe? The case Vollfied had probably contained guns though. If it was going to be markmanship, it didn't look as if he'd rigged a range for shooting however.

"I need some more practice. Practice I can't do on my own. It's been awhile since I used it... and while I may not need it here, it doesn't help to be unprepared," Sven told him. Of course, he failed to mention to Joshua exactly what type of practice this was and what he needed the other to do.

The beating around the bush was causing some raised eyebrows on Joshua's part. "And the reason why you're not telling me what form your 'training' takes is because?" He asked with an amused edge to his voice.

"Because you'd walk away and call me an idiot..." Sven muttered. He wasn't stupid. He knew that if he asked someone, especially someone he didn't know, to start shooting at him the person would think he was nuts, or suicidal.
