Roy had managed to get his rather sore body out of bed after the small post. He had been waiting for a while, waiting for that certain golden eyed boy to reply. It had taken him a while, but a response was given, which made Roy happy. The floor felt oddly cold under his feet, probably because the heater hadn’t been on in a few days. That would explain why he was sore as hell as well.

Getting down the stairs wasn’t the easiest task either. He took his time and was halfway down when he heard the knock. Sighing, he hurried without stumbling and made his way to the door. He opened it and looked out into the night. Habit had him looking over the boy, then he looked down. “You got here quick.”

Ed didn't look up, he just took a deep breath and clung to Roy's middle, hiding his face in his stomach and trembling lightly. He was trying not to cry, but the initial shock, fall and rise again was making him quiver and curse at himself in his mind. He just wanted to hold onto him right now, because he wasn't sure what else he could say.

Roy blinked and kept looking down. The clinging was making his back hurt, but it seemed like Ed needed to do this. He wrapped his arms around the smaller boy in an awkward hug, smiling to himself. It had been worth the trip down the stairs.

“Unless you want me to get sick again, I think we should move this inside.”

Ed let go as soon as this was said, but still could not look up or speak, like a weight was set in his mouth. He shut the door behind him and replaced himself to holding onto Roy, firm, swallowing until something could come out.

"Don't... leave me like that again...."

“Hm?” Roy noted that Edward looked rather disheveled. He probably hadn’t been taking care of himself, which was understandable. Though having him as a normal boy rather than a cat boy did make the Colonel somewhat happy.

“I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”

Ed held his breath a moment and pressed himself more firmly to Roy before looking up with teary eyes, somewhat forlorn and coming out of his state of being numb as he had been for the past few days. "Do you promise?"

Nodding, Roy stared at him with a small smile on his face. “I do.” He sighed and looked towards the kitchen. “I think we have some things we should discuss, preferably over a cup of tea.”

Ed looked at him, a little concerned at what would be said. His thoughts of when he'd spoken with Ruby making him feel a little sick. "... Yeah... alright."

“Good!” He unattached the small blonde, and led him into the kitchen. Roy sat him down in the chair and went to preparing the tea. Just something simple, black tea being his preference right now. He hummed slightly as he went about his task.

Ed walked to the kitchen and sat in the kitchen, settling in and watching Roy make his tea. He seemed... better than ever. Was it the eye coming back? Was it just the absence of sickness? He had no idea. He knew he felt something flutter in him, seeing Roy so happy.

Setting everything on a tray, he walked over to the table and set it down. “I don’t think anything in the fridge is safe right now, so I hope crackers will do.” Roy sat down opposite of Edward and poured himself some tea. He almost spilt it, still not used to seeing out of both eyes right now.

"It's fine," he replied, watching him still, seeing that he had some clumsiness to him and it made Ed curious as to what it was like to suddenly have what you hadn't again.

Roy used his right hand to lift the cup and sipped his tea. “I suppose you are curious about what I was talking about. Well… there are a few things actually. Like our current living situation.” He lowered the cup. “I know you just recently moved in with your… ‘mother’ and Al, but… I want you to live with me.”

Ed looked at him, dumbfounded, turning red and holding his breath a moment. "You do?" he asked, trying not to seem so overwhelmed as his face was saying. Something made him feel bad for even considering to agree, but something in him was also delighted. "... I have to ask... why...?"

“Why? Isn’t it obvious?” He tapped the table, the smile growing a bit more. “Well, you’re warm, except your metal arm, but that gets warm eventually.” He leaned on the table with his elbows. “You don’t mind my bad cooking or my pets. Sure, you yell at me when I don’t tell you I’m sick or injured, but at least you don’t try to shoot me or anything. Plus, it’d be easier for me to see you this way instead of going across town or meeting somewhere.”

Ed listened, wondering if he was getting at exactly what Ed was thinking he was. If it wasn't Roy, he'd know, but with a man who you couldn't ever read right in your life, he didn't know. He looked at him, serious, but with a little exasperated smile. "Stop fucking around, alright? What do you feel about me, Roy Mustang?"
