Waiting patiently was a varied exercise. Waiting patiently for Cain meant fussing about, making sure there was tea, sitting and smoothing her dress repeatedly and generally being uncomfortable until he was there. Waiting patiently for Oscar was entirely different. Emmeline had found a book of poetry in the shelves and was reading it quietly, listening for a knock at the door.

When it came she was not overjoyed or nervous as she would have been with Cain, but rather filled with a vague sense of anxiety, but also with the hope that things between them could be smoothed over.

She answered the door quickly, and smiled when she saw him. "Very punctual of you, Oscar," she said, without meaning it as an insult.

Tilting his hat and giving her a wink, Oscar greeted Emmeline in a cheery manner accompanied by a slight bow. "Good afternoon~ Lady Emmeline~ I, Oscar Gabriel, has come to save you from boredom and take you out on an eventful afternoon, Milady~♥."

Hoping to at least get a chuckle out of her, he warmly smiled as he flexed his elbow, offering his arm for her to take. It's been a while since he's taken her out anywhere and it always seemed to be with Percy and to some grand party back in England. This was nice for a change. He had something nice planned for her that he wasn't quite used to doing but gave a try since, in all honesty, didn't have any other choice but to.

[[ooc: Please allow me to explain the set up of the inside? And leave them standing outside the place if you plan on advancing them forward in your next post~ unless you had something planned~ =~_^= Thanks~~<333]]

Emmeline smiled happily and took Oscar's arm. "That sound like a perfectly wonderful idea, milord. Please, lead the way," she said sweetly, pulling the door shut behind her.

It seemed like she had gone for a terribly long time without doing anything interesting or fun. Coloring with Gilford didn't count, because it was stressful in its own way even though it was something she enjoyed doing. And it had been so long since she'd seen Oscar.

[[ooc: Yeah sure? o0]]

Ah that smile, more or less genuine but still a smile. Either way Oscar was satisfied to even be able to see it again. Even if he was taken by her attitude the last time they met, he still wished for her happiness. Finally making it to the place he's chosen for them to dance, he cheerfully smiles as he announces their arrival. "Here we are~ This way milady ( ... )

Those sweet lips again. Oscar had a bad feeling that they were going to become quite addicting if he didn't stop himself now. Surprisingly enough, she was certainly welcoming him again as he felt her arms around his neck. Poor Emmeline. He really did feel for her but it didn't change the fact that she was still Cain's fiancee, a woman truly off-limits compared to Mary.

Mary... The Hargreaves really had a way of swooning those who become involved. Call it natural charm. They had both fallen under the family's mysterious spell. Lightly nipping at her lips, he kisses her cheek before slightly pulling away to look at her. His narrowed eyes absently looking at her facial features, he swallowed down hard as he found himself in that awkward state again of being unsure of what to do next. Lightly brushing her bangs away from her eyes, the Baron softly made his suggestion with a stutter. "U-Uhh... yea... I think i-it's about time we head back... that ball is tonight and... I'm sure you'll need to get ready as... I too have to... pick up ( ... )

Emmeline paused for a moment, attempting to regain her breath, then accepted Oscar's assistance. "Thank you," she said quietly, using his hand to catch her balance.

Really, he was being almost a perfect gentleman.

The almost being entirely her fault.

She went up on her tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek, really more just a brush of her lips against his skin. Then she was smiling and entirely herself again, moving away from him.

"Thank you for a perfectly wonderful evening, milord Baron. It was exactly what I needed."

With a slight nod of his head, Oscar helped the lady up from her chair as he's given yet another kiss on the cheek. Lightly blushing, he was pleased to see that Emmeline had approved. Even though things have gotten a little awkward as long as none of it was to be relayed to Cain, things would work out alright, he thought.

Grabbing his hat, the Baron winked at her as he held out his arm again to escort her out the door and back home. What an interesting day it had been so far, he just hoped that the night was going to go as smoothly if not better.
