Ran was sitting calmly at the kitchen table of the house he had temporarily appropriated, sipping a cup of tea, watching his device absently. The way he looked at it was the only indication that he was not perfectly calm. Whatever Schuldig had done to that girl, it was affecting him more than he would admit.
He had been telling the truth when he had said it was too much. He didn't know how to handle this.
The device was unhelpful as ever. It was only a piece of electronics, after all. Ran thought that perhaps the puppy could be coaxed into playing today, if he was extra careful, but the little voice in the back of his head reminded him of that feeling he'd had in the morning, that this was going to go downhill fast, and he should just leave while Crawford was asleep and a dog, and not wait until he was awake and human again.
He had made extra tea, just in case. It didn't hurt to be polite.
