Finally an answer. Arietta never liked asking for help, but the pain was so excruciating that she had to ask directly. Cain, she went to for help, but he was at a loss for what he could do. The teenage girl took it as a sign that he didn't care. Really, Cain was a mix of things that Arietta would never be able to comprehend ( ... )

Zack paused at the sight of something moving in the corner of his eye. Fortunately, he turned towards the stairs just in time to see the small girl take a face-first plunge towards the bottom of the staircase. He couldn't imagine what a fall like that could do to a little girl. In horror, he dashed quickly over to the stairs just in time to catch her before she fell.

"Hey... You really shouldn't have moved. You ok?"

Arietta landed safely into Zack's arm. Somehow, she felt safe this way. She opened her eyes to be greeted with his concerned face. "N- no..." she replied. Any movement at this point was just filled with pain. So the mere action of breathing was becoming painful. But despite that, Arietta clung onto him. Zack was giving off heat and right about now, that's what she needed.

Zack gave a slight sigh of relief now that the girl was no longer in danger of falling and breaking something. Carefully, he shifted her over slightly so he could sift through his pocket for the cure materia he had borrowed from Aeris previously. After activating it, he brought it closer to the girl until a comfortable blue glow surrounded her and began to heal her wounds.

"How'd you end up like this anyway?" he asked softly, feeling the urge to smooth out her hair in a comforting manner (but lacking the hands to do so).

The shifting hurting for a couple of moments until Zack settled again. And with the blue light, things seemed to get a little bit easier to bear. Somehow, but she didn't know why, Arietta started to feel a little better. Opening her eyes, she saw the light right around her. This was different that she was used to. Hell, when she was in God Generals, there wasn't a such thing as healing. You just went in and fought until you dropped. But this healing thing, wasn't so bad.

Arietta shook her head 'no' to Zack's question. Honestly, she didn't understand how she got this way. She heard about Ion's leaving even though he promised to stay by her side, and something struck her then.

Zack sighed a little as the materia did its work. He guessed he should have been used to this kind of thing by now. Cloud used to get injured all the time and refuse to tell what happened, but he figured maybe Arietta honestly didn't know. Now he was at a bit of a loss of what to do.

Once the glow dimmed, he lowered the materia and offered the little girl a smile. "Feel a little better now? Your wounds are mostly gone now."

Arietta looked up at Zack and nodded her head 'yes'. She was feeling a bit better, thanks to him. She closed one of her eyes and rubbed it slightly. Now that most of the pain was gone, her body felt exhausted. And for the past two days, she wasn't able to fall asleep because of the pain. Finishing her action, the young girl moved closed to the boy.

Carefully, Zack moved his arm just enough so he could slide the materia back into his pocket. Now that that was taken care of, he was even more at a loss than before. He figured the girl needed to get some rest now, but he hadn't a single clue how to navigate himself around Cain's house.

"Arietta?" he called softly, "You need to get some rest. Can you show me to your room? I'll carry you there."

Again, Arietta shook her head no. She didn't want to be in Cain's residence anymore. To be honest, being here only brought up bad memories for her. The teenager had only originally come to his place in order to pick up her stuffed animal. And once that ordeal was done, she was going to go back... well... she really didn't have anywhere else to go. But seeing that she felt ill, she wound up staying here. The only thing she wanted now was her stuffed animal, to leave this place, and some sleep would probably be nice too. "I just want to get my stuffed animal and leave," her voice murmured.

He was a little curious as to why the girl didn't want to stay, but didn't bother to question. Now was probably not exactly the greatest time for Q&A. Though there was the issue of where she was going to go next. In his mind, he vaguely wondered if she had any family members or friends he could return her to. First things first.

"Mm, all right," he said, lifting her up in his arms so he could get to his feet. "So where's your stuffed animal?"

Arietta's arms slipped around Zack's neck to support herself. At least now she was able to move a bit easier without the pain wearing her down. "Upstairs," she quietly said, opening her eyes and looking at the stair case. "I- I just don't want to stay here anymore." The teenager's mind, for whatever reason now, flowed in old memories of Cain. It would make sense since it was his house and she did spend a of time here. But with the good memories came the bad, and it was something she didn't want to be reminded of as of now.

Following the girl's directions, Zack made his way up the stairs, making sure to be careful so she didn't have to feel any more unnecessary pain. Once at the top, he turned his head twice in either direction of the hallway before resigning himself for more instructions again.

"All right. We'll leave right after, ok?" As an afterthought, he added, "Are you sure you should just leave without saying anything to Cain?"

"Hm," she replied, looking over to the right in the direction of the room she was staying in. It would be fine. It's not like Cain cared too much. Well, no, that wasn't true. Cain attempted to care, but just did a really bad job of doing it. And maybe Arietta would never understand WHY he couldn't, but it's not like Cain gave her a straight answer about it anyway.

Looking in the direction the girl was Zack made his way tentatively down the hall, pausing by each door before finally stepping into the one Arietta seemed to be looking at. Spotting the stuffed animal, he walked over briskly and shifted the girl's weight so he could pick it up and hand it to her.

"Do you have anywhere to go from here then?" he asked as he turned around to exit the room again.

Arietta removed one of her hands from Zack neck so she could take the stuffed animal in her hand. But then her arm came right back, now with the stuffed animal dangling behind him now.

To his question, the teenager shook her head 'no'. Arietta didn't want to go back to where she and Ion were staying and she already expressed that she didn't want to stay at Cain's residence. The God General didn't know if it was too forward of her to ask, but she did it anyway. "If it's alright with you, I'd like to stay-..." she suddenly cut herself off.

It was then she was reminded of Riku and wondered if she should go back to him. Arietta doubt that Riku would want her again, considering she left him multiple times. And even Sora returned, but he didn't seem to want to see Arietta at the moment.

"...with you..."

Well, he hadn't been expecting this. Zack could barely remember the last time he had properly stayed at his hotel room he called home. Usually, he was always out and about, doing various things for people, odd jobs, and that kind of thing. He wasn't sure if it was really safe for the girl to be staying there by herself either, especially considering the fact he had just found her brutally wounded alone in a house. He paused for a long time.

"I'm not home very much. I'm not sure if it would be safe for you..."
