Jade had spent precious little time away from Nephry during her first days here. Much had to be explained to the girl, trust had to be gained-she had to believe that he was indeed Jade Balfour, her elder brother, despite the sudden gap in their ages, the many years Jade now held over her, and this oddity of a world she’d been drawn into. Nephry was an clever child, and intellectual children always questioned, rather than follow blindly… so while it was a difficult process, jade found himself enjoying it.
Nephry proved to be a pleasant break from his current research, and from a few distasteful thoughts on his current situation regarding the other two men who’d be living in his home.
Seated at his desk, he turned slightly, eyeing the young girl who has playing on the floor boards. “Nephry- are you tired quite yet? I recall you saying you wished to be 'wide awake' for when Saphir arrives.”
Nephry tried to hide her yawn but failed. She was tired, but she didn't really want to have to sleep. She had to keep an eye on this man who claimed to be her older brother. Though, he did have a point about being wide awake when Saphir arrives. She really wanted to see him, even if he was an old man like Guy said he was. Without saying a word, she rubbed her left eye and nodded.
Guy was leaning against the wall next to Jade's desk, watching happily. He was reluctant to let Jade out of his sight at all, and had been following Jade around the shop ever since the end of the cat food errand. Guy knew that he shouldn't interrupt while Jade was working, but Jade was talking to Nephry right now, and that wasn't work...
Looking through a window, Marluxia hid himself from the rest and watched the girl. He couldn't kidnap her just yet. She needed to be alone. Fortunately for him, she looked tired and just about ready for bed. Perhaps he would take her sooner than expected, which was good.
Jade smiled somewhat, leaning back in his chair and eyeing over Nephry’s place on the floor, where the child gave a reluctant, clearly sleepy nod. And seeing as Gailardia was getting ancy (it seemed very little really prevented him from the spontaneous embraces he was itching to give at nearly every point in the day so far), Jade shot him a glance as he got to his feet. “Guy-perhaps go collect the last of the milk, put it in a glass and warm it for her while I tuck her in?” The candy hadn’t -quite- gotten him past his gynophobia, they’d discovered earlier. Tucking-in would have to be Jade’s job.
Nephry got up and stretched her arms out. She didn't really like warm milk, but it always made her fall right to sleep when she laid on her bed back at home. She wouldn't finish the entire glass, though. Picking up her doll and holding it close, she walked over to Jade, waiting for him to tuck her in, even if she could do it herself.
"....Okay," Guy answered reluctantly. He knew he couldn't be the one to tuck Nephry in, and it made sense for the milk to be prepared while Nephry was settling down, but he still didn't like leaving Jade. It wouldn't be for very long, at least. Guy glanced at Jade over his shoulder as he left the room, and then hurried to the kitchen. Once there, he put a pan on the stove and lit a burner, turning to the fridge and finding the milk while he waited for the pan to warm.
He located a glass, and poured the milk into the pan, keeping a careful eye on it to make sure that it didn't overheat.
One less person in the room. That would be enough, right? He could handle the other while one was away. Concentrating, he opened a portal into the room. Stepping through, he quickly grabbed the girl and covered her mouth. "Good evening." He told the man in the room.
Oh, Guy could do with a moment away... after all, he'd been determined for hours so be as near as humanly possible. A bit of separation would not hurt, and perhaps would even prepare him for tonight-- where most certainly, they would not be sharing the same sleeping space

Nephry tried to break free, but the man didn't budge as she tried elbowing him on the stomach. She also tried biting through his gloved hand but that didn't work either. She tried her hardest to free herself, but it seemed like no matter how hard she tried, the man who held her wouldn't let go. She was scared.
Even in his haste to finish the task and return to Jade's room, Guy was careful not to spill any of the now-heated milk onto the countertop. He picked up the glass and made his way back to the room as quickly as he could without letting the milk slop out of the cup.
"Jade, I've got the--" He stopped in the doorway, confused by what he saw. "M...Marluxia?"
Marluxia glanced at the man who called out his name, and back to the man with glasses. He knew the blond was familiar of him, but this man seemed to know who he was as well. Though, that did not matter. He had what he came for and did not intend to release her until he receives what he wants. Though, for her being his sister was a bit odd. He looked much older than she was.
Opening a portal from behind, he held the girl loser and began to slowly approach the exit. "If you would like to see your... sister... again, then please bring me that little witch, Namine. I promise to return her then. I have no intention of harming her."
Ignoring Guy for the moment, Jade’s eyes narrowed predictably, and a nearly bestial brand of instinct kicked in-the spear was at his side on reflex. “I think not.” Snapped.
He knew Marluxia, and he knew precisely where that portal led. However, he wouldn’t be letting the man get through there, not with his sibling, and not with threats being spouted from his lips-demands it would be preposterous to meet.
When the fonist nipped forward, it was not yet with the intention to attack. Foremost, he went to grab a handful of the material of Marluxia’s jacket-to give him a firm tug forward, away from the portal. Meantime, he added to Nephry, to throw the man off balance and prevent his escape, “Nephry, kick him! At the knee!”
Nephry screamed through Marluxia's hand, and kicked him where Jade indicated, on his knee. After doing what she said, she managed to break free from the man who attempted to kidnap her, and at the same time, nearly tripping him.
Guy watched, shocked, as the three other people in the room began to fight. However, once he caught up to what was going on, it didn't take him long to choose a side.
Using what he had at hand, Guy darted closer, so as to have a clear shot at Marluxia. Then, with a snap of his wrist, he flung the steaming contents of the glass he held at the pink-haired man.
Quickly, Marluxia blocked the oncoming glass with his scythe. Quickly, Marluxia gained his balance and glanced back and forth between both men. Looking at the one with the glasses who approached him first, he casted Death Sentence upon him, giving him one minute to live. He was in the way, and he couldn't let him live. As for the other man, he looked back and gave him a glare.
