Kisa had sat down on a bench. She was playing with her communicator, trying some new things that might make it easier to use. Her ears picked up the sound of someone approaching. Looking up, she was surprised to see a girl in a school uniform. “Are... you… Rukia-nee-chan?” she asked quietly.

She smiled and nodded. "Yes, I am. You must be Kisa, then."

She nodded and stood up. “I’m sorry… if I made you walk far to get me.”

She shook her head. "No, don't be sorry. It was rather refreshing, actually."

“Really?” She tilted her head, a bit confused. “You haven’t been outside lately?”

She shook her head yet again. "No. It's a bit of a long story, which I doubt you'd want to hear," she laughed lightly.

“Ok…”She walked up to Rukia and bowed. “I’m grateful that you are willing to let me stay at your house. I’ll help with the chores! Please let me!”

She blinked. "If you're sure. Well... I may need a bit of help with the cooking. Everything else I can take care of!"

She smiled and clapped her hands lightly. “I can cook! Tohru-nee-chan showed me how!”

She nodded. "That's great! Now, shall we be going, then?"

“Hai! I’m ready!” She went to take Rukia’s hand, like she would Tohru’s, but she stopped herself. Instead, she put both her hands behind her back and smiled at Rukia.

Rukia gave her a small pat on the head and reached for Kisa's hand. "It's alright. It's not like I'm going to bite or anything!"

Her eyes widened and her smile got bigger. “Really?” She took Rukia’s hand, swinging it slightly.

She nodded and started to lead Kisa back to the beach.

Kisa hadn’t been to the beach in a while. She remembered fondly how some of the other Sohma’s, Tohru, and herself spent Gold Week at the beach house. It made her happy to think she would be living by one. Maybe Rukia would let the others visit. They’d like that.

She stopped at a small cottage. "Well, here we are!" she announced, and opened the door.
