'Gure walked on the beach towards the waves. He didn't want to live anymore. Well, that wasn't entirely true. He wanted to live, but he didn't want to grow up. He didn't want to be the adult that everyone was telling him he had been. Adults were bad. He didn't want to be one.
Hari had become one...the thought popped unbidden into his mind. That was true. But Hari had changed. He didn't really know him anymore. That was what happened when you grew up; you forgot everything you meant to be. You promised yourself that "I'll never be like that, I'll never treat people that way" and you did it anyway.
People didn't change. Not really. If he had been bad like that before, he'd be bad again. He'd get worse and worse as he grew older and older. Besides, Akito was gone. He couldn't feel her anymore, and it made him more frightened than he had ever been.
Inu wanted him to die. He thought it was a good idea. Maybe if he died, when he was born again Akito would be there. If his friend thought it was good, it had to be. Inu protected him from everything and he was always there...
