last year...
i recently downloaded michael jackson's "love never felt so good." hearing it gives me such a wash of feelings. in one aspect, i am rejoiced to hear him again, as if he never left. in another, i am deeply saddened knowing that. this is possibly the last time we'll hear something original from him. even more, the world just won't seem to let him rest. most notably, they resurrected a projected,animated version of him to show a performance that is truly from beyond the grave. it is unsettling.
as a toddler learning to walk, my mother tells me that i would "dance" to his songs. and perhaps hearing songs from the late just makes it even more meaningful...that something so far reaching and so distant can swell again and be near.
