why does the word diet have the word "die" in it? LOL!
in light of new year's resolutions, the ladies at work have decided to organize a weight losing contest. the gamble is the person that loses the most weight at the end of the set amount of time wins money.
i find it amusing that it takes a contest to motivate people to lose weight. like it was entirely impossible before, you know? and get this...all this time, we had a convenient in-house gym that is just now being frequented by the participants of this god awful contest.
so while getting in some good exercise and working up a sweat is a good thing, it means nothing if you don't diet properly. suddenly switching to salads doused with dressing doesn't exactly sustain you and that extra coating of fatty ranch dressing isn't exactly going to help that figure. food deprivation leads to ravenous coworkers...hungry women equals malo. and here's the kicker, sabotage has become rampant during these times of competition. candies, cookies, and all sorts of junk have been magically appearing on the potluck table. and like whitney houston's addiction to crack and bobby brown, these ladies naturally gravitate to the plethora of assorted "snacks." and they wonder why it's hard to shed those pounds.
on a side note, why are people more inclined to diet and exercise in the beginning of the year only to pack it on during the holidays at the end of the year?
anyway, all this talk about diet and exercise is making me hungry. salad anyone? j/k
