It has been a sleepless two days, but I've finally been through the last of what the moth recorded.



Happily, I was able to skip over the vast majority of it without actually having to listen. Hours upon hours purely of wings flapping, long silences, nauseatingly saccharine declarations, unfortunate expressions of physical affection, terrible jokes, snoring, and running faucets.

Thank the Light I had already figured out a sorting algorithm to use when converting the mana patterns back into audible sound, or I would likely still be at it.

I hadn't been expecting that.

From his words, he hadn't been either. Reassuring, particularly when one considers that he later met with Varkanis.

That is a matter for another entry, however, and it does little to answer the question of what precisely he and the midlife crisis were doing sheltering a pair of lucid wretched in their living room.

What in fel are you up to, Thorndawn? And how does the (somewhat disgraced) daughter of a rapidly declining noble house come into this?

I try to keep up on rumor, if only from a distance, but it seems I have been more lax with it than is fitting for a man of my rank and of my interests. I will need to speak to Mother about what she knows of the family.

I cannot afford to let my curiosity overshadow my ongoing projects, but as diversions go -
