I've Got Tires That Grab The Road
Amusing moment of the week: kickin' it with some Bulgarian b-boys who randomly showed up at my Capoeira class yesterday. They showed me some flares, and helped me a little bit with kip-up technique (I still can't do one, but I'm getting there), which was pretty cool.
The really neat thing about it was that the group was a mix of Bulgarians and Roma. For those of you who don't know, the Roma are (to put it excessively mildly) not well-regarded in this country. The closest I can come up with in terms of analogy is this: imagine African-Americans in the 1970s. Now, cross that with illegal immigrants/migrant workers today. Add a big helping of cultural isolationism to the mix and see what you get. So, for this sort of thing to be going down and everyone participating on an equal footing, it was pretty cool.
In other news, the EPIC BEARD has been tamed and trimmed.
