Squiggly-Wiggly Little Boo-Boo Baby

X. is 44 days old.
First, some pictures.

Here's Xerxes at 10 days old on 7/17/2008. Notice the rigid tube from the High Frequency Oscillating Ventilator, and the bandage over the hole in his chest (on his left).

Here's Xerxes and his Mommy, indigo_eris, same day (she's worried).

And here's a couple of Xerxes from yesterday, at 6 weeks and a day. He has Tauna's eyes (and nose, I think, though it's a bit early to tell...it could be a bit my Dad's/brothers' noses too).

And finally some baby-fat:

Here's a picture of his favorite position--on his belly:
Notice how much bigger he is! (2 lbs 10 oz, 14.5 inches long as of last Friday.)

What's new? Well, Tauna's producing more milk, as much as 3 mL at a pumping. (unfortunately he eats like 6 mL/hr or so, so he's still gettting mostly formula). But some is better than none.
He had a respiratory infection, and they gave him antibiotics for that. He seems to be doing better now. He's gone up and down on his settings, but is still on the ventilator. He squirms around alot and has recently taken to trying to pick at the tape onhis face. He likes to tuck his legs under him like a frog and then arch his back up to move himself around. Tauna's nickname for him is "Squiggly-Wiggly Boo-Boo Baby". (Though sometimes he's "Cozy-Dozy Boo-Boo Baby".)

He has a new neighbor-boy, born a few days ago, who was about 26 - 26.5 weeks (X. was 27) and weighed 1 lb, 14 oz, and was 13" long. So, bigger than X., but so TINY now in comparison. It's great to see how he's grown!
