All Hail Discordia! iamsquid September 14 2006, 23:34:07 UTC
I was thinking about yoo when I started hearing about the new definition of what qualifies as a planet. Does this effect yor emphasis on Pluto in astrology or any other planets/sattellites/etc?

It probably means I'll attempt to give more equal footing to Ceres and other bodies than I have ( ... )

Only time will tell what the new bodies mean. We've had over 200 years to figure out Uranus, and 150 for Neptune -- even 76 years for Pluto. But only by using them in charts, and seeing what they *actually* correspond to (as opposed to assumptions and wishful thinking) can we use them with any accuracy. e.g. the virgin goddess/asteroid Vesta actually corresponds with the sex industry as vocation as well as with celibacy/virginity.

Do yoo think the planet will represent the Discordian current when interprited astroilogically and if so is this simply because some astronomers named some cold rock way the fuck out there after the goddess Eris?

Have we had a similar conversation before?

BTW, thank yoo for being right about it not offically being called Xena!

How do you know that Eris herself didn't inspire Michael Brown to choose her name for 2003UB313?

Why did it just happen to occur that Eris wasn't taken in the 1800s when all the other greco-roman names were used on little asteroids?

Cause and Effect is not the proper way to approach astrology IMNSHO. Since it works based on synchronicity, we look for correlations.

You will notice,if you look, that places that Eris touches in a chart will have *something* to do with Discord. Hell, she opposes (tension) my Mercury (mental-thinky) and I have ADD. She squares (friction) my Moon (home/inner hidden self), and well, you've visited my home!

Go to Chokmah and ask Ratziel *why* astrology works. I'm just here to interpret the celestial wheel..

That's actually the point I was getting at. Do yoo believe that the planet itself inspired the current, that the planet adopts the current by virtue of being named as much, or that it's entireyl arbitrary? Yoo seem to believe the first option. Not being an astrologer I am not qualified to choose any of the options.

That seems to be pretty reliable evidence to support yor answer.

I wonder if Eris has something to do with absurd humor as well, or truth-in-humor or humor-in-truth, truth-in-absurdity, or none-of-the-above?
