So, in my app, I avoided certain spoilers. I did this because I know a bunch of people ARE just playing, and it's a scene that, if early-ish in the game, definitely has more impact if you see it and have to play through it than if you hear about it ( Read more... )

Yeah, the amount of time the war wraps up is what boggles me too, but given how tight the game is, it often leaves me going "but, but, ...okaaaay" because. While setting the bar higher is fine for me, then I try to write fic and find that I don't have wiggle room for most of it because like. "Some weird shit happened! Let's immediately go and talk to the Vanguards. Now we're back! Before we can even finish a conversation the Karma Temple is summoning us! Okay, that was a weird conversation, what should we do? ...Okay, to the Maribel base!" It only seems to get tighter too, much to my frustration, once other people are doing things in the background incredibly quickly too (like... While the Embryon are distracted killing Bat, Varin went right from that convo with him to invading Vishudha apparently WHAT). SO IN SHORT I have... very little idea of how much time it took, I just have this horrified conviction it took waaay less than it should have. ;;

But yeah, even if we up the timespan of the early part to something like three days when we count in... travel and maybe a break before going after the Maribel or something, that's... not a lot of time, especially given the implications that the tribe went kind of crazy on each other for a while and Jinana sorting them out to at least roughly organized by the time the Embryon showed up :/ I don't think Jinana did everything perfectly, and I think she was totally at a loss over some things, but -- yeah, it's one of the things that makes her playable for me, I guess.
