Postcard of a palanquin in Madeira
Would you say this is an accurate description of the picture?
"The customer lay down on the litter, which consisted of a hammock suspended from a single pole, the part where the sitters head and shoulders were was covered by curtains that hung from a small roof was jutted forth from the pole. The far end of the poll at the customer’s feet was the leading bearer. The second bearer stood closer to the customer’s head and followed the direction of the leading bearer."
If you read that description without the benefit of the picture would you have correctly envisioned the postcard.
If so how to make the description more elegant and less clumsy...
Sigh.
Why can't I get words out correctly.
