Thanks to birth control pills, I spent this morning with fake morning sickness, throwing up and dry heaving with the occasional sleep from 9 AM - 2 PM. When I finally had the strength to actually get up and out of bed around 2, I'm like "Oh, new Lawrence e-mail, probably just more spam from urban outfitters or musician's friend." But....no.
Definitely got offered the RLA position (Residence Life Advisor) via e-mail this morning. WTF lawrence? Every time I go after something (first jazz band, then RLA, then desk clerk) I get hardcore rejected, but then after some time I get offered the position.
So, I'm taking it.
Before this morning:
paying $1131/term (rate for a single room)
11'6" x 9" room.
basement of an ex-frat house.
On a floor with one other girl, close to kitchen and laundry room.
Have to go up a floor in my towel to the showers.
solitude. central location.
After this morning:
paying $978/term (rate for a double room)
12'6" x 9 (I think, it's blurry though)
On a floor with about 45 upperclassmen, both male and female
receive pay at $444/term.
my own bathroom and shower.
responsibility?
I really can't believe it. This upcoming year is going to be absolutely crazy, and I'm probably going to be complaining about how much my job sucks in a few months. Mainly because Hiett is notorious for being a party dorm and a lot of vandalism went on during '05-'06, and yeah. I definitely feel a lot better after spending $180 yesterday between having my car towed and the price of my prescription raised.
can't believe I'm living here:
