About 9 months ago I thought I had what I could only imagined was a ruptured eardrum. It was a terrible scratchy noise when my ear moved. Eventually I dislodged dried blood/wax. Yea I know, gross. So everything was fine for 4 months. Then it came back, only a little different. As if something was up against the drum, but it was just occasionally.
I finally saw the doctor and they only saw hair and I thought "jabeezis! I'm not that old!". I went back to the doctor saturday morning after much ponderance and deciding it was indeed hair that was the culprit. It had become much more of a nuisance, to the point I thought I would lose my sanity, literally. I see a naturopath and she usually has a student doctor wit her. Saturday she had two and they spent several hours all taking turns at irrigating my ear and blindly plucking with tweezers. It was deep in there and it fricking hurt a-fricking-lot, but gawd damn I was gonna go crazy if I didn't get it out. Finally the Dr pulls out a hair a good 1.5 inches long! Luckily for me it wasn't old man hair. It was a hair from my head that found its way in there. I was astonished that it was a behemoth in there for 9 months. there was a bit of shooting daggers and glares cast upon the devil hair.
Later that day I had an audio gig way south in Sumner. At one point the dialogue was pretty loud and I felt the distinct warmth of liquid in my ear. Yea it was blood. Since the dialogue had some profanity I can safely say that profanity does indeed make my virgin ears bleed. Today my ear feels clogged like a head cold but no more blood at least.
Friday nite after work I went out with some guys from work to a sports bar (not my pick). I finally found a place with shuffleboard! I love this game. Its not quite the old fart cruiseship game. It is a tabletop version and ultra fun.
Sunday I met up with a new friend of mine whom is a Ballardite as well. We got coffee, walked the farmers market, took advantage of some free wine tasting, bought some jam made from Pluots(apricot/plum cross breed) and had Puerto Rican for lunch.
Off to eat some soup and watch Office Space. 6 Days till california...
