These are a few of my favorite things

Yesterday I got to buy some sandalwood and hydrangea aromatherapy candles for the bathrooms that we're going to be subjected to on our planned backpacking trip through Cambodia (yay!). I thought of the word I picked up from an old Readers Digest issue last week.

bobo (n): bourgeois bohemian

In the evening Anna, Mark and I went to watch The Darjeeling Limited. I don't want to spoil anything, so I will only say that this film had a lot of the things I adore.

In no particular order:
1. Sitar music (an amazing soundtrack, overall)
2. Trains
3. India
4. Adrien Brody
5. Beautiful monogrammed leather luggage (Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton, no less)
6. Traveling on a budget
7. Hindi film themes
8. Dry humor
9. Random things happening

As an added bonus, I got to let out a guffaw at full blast in the theater, something I don't think I've ever done before. And an even bigger bonus - no one else was laughing.

We talked about symbolism in the movie, in particular the guys' footwear, or lack thereof. Do you think that a mark of good writing is when symbols that the authors didn't mean or include on purpose come out? Or are we analyzing too much?

The guys with Wes Anderson. Damn you Adrien Brody and your pink boxers. Le sigh.

And then after the movie we went to my house and ended up in the park with Raf, Mia, Pao and Kristine, and we had a McDonald's picnic at one in the morning.

All in all, yesterday was A Good Day.
