Toph sends them letters dictated to and written by strangers she pays for the service. The hand writing is never the same from one letter to the next and neither is the location she posts them from. Sometimes they are barely legible and other times they're simply nonsense (some one stupid enough to try cheating Toph out of her money and lucky enough to succeed), but they make the effort to read about what she felt in the place of her discipline's origin and her search for the boy who took her title anyway.
