Help a friend out?

May 03, 2012 19:53

OK, I'm calling in all my friend mojo RIGHT NOW.  My friend, Don Scobie, has been out of work FOREVER (and by forever, I mean about 6 years, which is a long time for a young guy).  He's young, he's smart, he's creative, he's talented and he desperately needs a job.  He has no UI, he's gone through worker retraining.  He's been let down by every system in this city, state and nation.  Now I'm calling on all of you, my friends.  This is now personal for me.  He has written to all his elected representatives and gotten ONE response of "it's not my job to reply".  That's just wrong.
Don has a certificate in Healthcare IT, but he's good at many things.  He's personable.  He'd be great in front of customers.  He's creative.  He's a survivor.  If you want his resume, please let me know.  Please post this to your own FB pages, your own LJ, Twitter feeds or whatever.  I know a lot of you out there are jobless.  Let's start here.  This is now the "Get Don Scobie a Job" push.  Next we'll do it for someone else.  I have well over 400 of you on my FB feed.  Many of you have at least that many friends.  We span job fields and geography.  We are all good people (you wouldn't be on my FB if you weren't).  Can we get Don a job?
