Well then...where do I start? This weekend I made the epic journey to see Wes and the band Spock's Beard in LA. I worked Friday night until 1:30am and then woke my tired ass at 8 to go to softball practice. After practice, which I'm totally excited for our first game, I drove to Manteca to clean up. I treked down to LA and while I made pretty good time I found time to take a major detour, aka getting lost, and then re-found the way. I got to Wes' house around 6 and went out to dinner and schmoozed for a bit.
We got to the Galaxy Theater and listened to the first three bands, thanks but no thanks fella's. Wes and I had fun talking smack on the last band which was so awful, but they were a trendy teenager band so in my mind that is to be expected. We had to communicate using my phone, writing each other messages. He is not the biggest fan of loud music and it was awesome in the first place for hanging out with me while I waited for SB, I gave him the option to take a nap in car since he got up really early for school stuff.
Finally Spock's Beard was setting up and I met up with Cap't K :)
I finally met Miss Afton, which was a treat and I chatted with the people, well mostly old men, standing next to me. My normal policy is to keep to myself, but for some reason I talked it up with them. It was nice to tell you the truth, they thought it was cool that I knew so much about SB.
It is no surprise that SB was awesome. There are a lot details, but I liked the set list of music and it was so fun to be a participatory member of audience that knew most of the music. After they finished I left, although I wanted to talk to some ofthe members of the band and Gruno. But I had helluva drive home.
I dropped off Wes and got as far as almost the end of the grapevine. I was so tired I stopped at a rest stop and slept in my back seat. I woke up at 7:30 and made it home by noon to eat with my grandparents and father. I made my dad a puppet of himself which we found in my back seat, so I'm sad that there is not going to be any surprise factor on June 2nd, but now he is going to use it on stage. I helped my mom set up her ipod nano and drove back to Sac to work.
I got home from work and slept until 4 this afternoon. Shhhesh. When I woke up my phone wouldn't turn on/charge. Great. My ATM card is broken and I ordered a new one. My last pay check came back to me because my boss didn't sign it. And I can't seem to find anything that I need. And so yea tomorrow I have to go to Manteca to get a new phone.
Just in case anyone wants to come, I'm going to the Scottish Games in Livermore this weekend. I'm going for the music and its going to be fun!
