Driving to SF:
Now I didn't really have any hesitations about going to see Spock's Beard (SB for short). But the location and fans so to speak kinda freaked me out. They were all my dad's age and then there were a small percentage that were women/our age. I know for a FACT that guys my dad's age go goo goo for young hot babes like myself and Kelly that love Prog Rock, all rock in general, and everything else that the young people of today don't have good taste in (no offense). So I was nervous and on guard and I'm sorry. But the drive to SF was fun. So fun. There was so much laughter Saturday that I can barely handle it.
Highlights before The Pound:
-Finding a Starbucks "I am buying you a pretty little coffee, now Shut Up!"
-Accents...hehe
-Finally peeing
-Seeing RJ
-Scaring the shit out of myself with the bagel with the cockroach under it. Homies I screamed and flew across the room. It was hella funny
-The drum core from Oakland
-Adventure in the "wilderness"
Bands Opening for SB:
There was some good sounds from Kineto and True MaGrit. The f-ing lead singer from MaGrit humped her keyboard on stage. Dude..the only thing about them is there were no bridges..it got reallll boring after awhile and all their songs sounded the same. Good sounds though. Kineto was good too. The lead singer was...well to me it didn't really flow with the music. The drummer, electric guitar, and bassist were rocking! The bassist has his bass's strung left handed. Not too common. But good openers.

SB Performance:
So yea this band is rockin'! They are a Progressive Rock band and thier lead is the tour drummer from Tears For Fears. You all know at least one song. They had the lead Nick who played drums, tambourine!, guitar, and sang (LIKE AN ANGEL!), Dave who played bass, Hot Electric Guitar Alan, Ryo the keyboarder, and this small phil collins look alike who played drums and percussion. So yea Kelly and I got front of the stage standing seats right in front of Alan and Nick was right to the left of us. Lord my legs, feet, back hurt from standing there for five hours but the concert was worth all the pain!! This band rocks and puts on a great show. I can't wait til I can afford to buy their CD!! Kelly and I screamed and yelled at the top of our lungs. We rocked out with our our non-existent cocks out! We made some funny comments that the band laughed at too!
Key-tar!:
So Ryo played the key-tar!! I have never seen one before and it was really exiting when he got on the shoulders of the guy next to me playing and walking around. The keytar song was so awesome. It was scream worthy!
Band Members:
They all rocked!! The solos each one of them did was awesome. Dave on the bass makes me want to pick up the bass sooo bad!! The drum solo was so freakin kick ass!! When Ryos son came on stage and they rocked together it was so awesome! Lord the band is super cool. They were all soooo funny!
Nick D'Virgilio: I am offically in love with Nick D'Virgilio. He has the voice, musicianship, lips!, and the energy I want in a man. (Plus reading on I realized he likes baseball, golf, cooking, and changing his hair, MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!!!) He has the greatest smile I have ever seen! When he was singing his love ballads I want to be the mircophone. Lord the way he pressed his lips up to it with all of his passion...its only something I can dream about...sigh..I am sooo upset I didn't bring my camera. Tis ok the one on my phone is just going to have to do

This is Yvonne, I had the chance to see you play Saturday night with Spocks Beard and meet you. I don't know if you remember but I'm the blonde in the green shirt. When I had the chance to talk to you I was so nervous and excited. You put on an amazing show!! I said the most stupid, but very humorous "When you are up there jumping around on stage I wanted to jump around too" Well I'm the president of the Sacramento State Marching Band and Spirit Leader so its pretty much my job to jump around and act like a baboon as much as possible while playing my piccolo. So...with that being said your performance was very inspirational to me. My favorite band is Van Halen and I love watching Sammy Hagar run around jumping off of platforms. After Sammy seeing in August and seeing you with Spocks Beard I was reminded by your passion for music and energy that that is what my main goal is in life and with music.
LIke I said you guys rocked so hard Saturday night and I can't wait to see you perform with TFF this summer. I am definitely a fan and will be buying your solo acoustic album as soon as this "broke ass college student" can afford it. BTW it is very low priced!

Nick D'Virgilio having eye sex:
I had eye sex with Nick. We made contact about four times at least during power ballads. The first time he looked into my eyes from his mircophone. But one he had eye sex with me he moved to right infront of me and stared into my eyes and sang to me for thirty seconds at least. Eye sex! Yea it was incredible and I should have reached my hand out to him but all I could to was smile and stare!!
Shaking hands:
After the encore Nick, Alan, Ryo, and Phil Collins look alike shoke mine and kellys hand. Nick frist!! I could have died right there (but I didn't know there was more magic to come!) and then Alan, Ryo, and of course Jimmy. It was so great to look into their eyes and say thank you! Oh lord!! I could have melted!
Talking to Nick:
OMG! I didn't know that Kelly knew the guy who did the stage managing stuff! She went up to talk to him and he asked if they we were going to stick around cuz the band was going to come back out to talk. I was like YES! so we did! Nick saw us waiting and gave me the head nod "what up" sign with a huge grin! Then he walked over to us and he hugged us!! melting! I was so nervous and excited! I said the most stupid thing after I told him:
a) he rocked
b) he rocked
c) I thought this Mavin Gaye shirt rocked
"Seeing you on stage jumping around made me want to jump around too"...lord I am an idoit but at least I can laugh at myself.
So we talked somemore and he shoke our hands again and yea I think we are in love. Pretty much...again I wish I had my camera..
Post Concert:
After the concert I was walking on air. I started running, dancing, yelling around. I couldn't stop!

So Kelly and I are going up to OR to see tears for fears this summer. It is going to be the coolest thing ever. It was so funny when Nick asked Kelly and I how we heard of them she said I went to TFF and etc and he was like yea we are touring in the summer and she was like I dont want to see TFF I want to see you! I was like WHOA!! dude thats big considering TFF is her fav band. So honestly SB is awesome and I can wait to see Nick in July. I will be a master at his music by then!! I will talk to him and hopefully get a reply to my email and yea.
