My contacts with the scientists show indications of madness. One seems quite insane, and the other rather enjoys our plight.

While that doesn't surprise me, one wonders how they managed to pull off such a grand scheme with such infirmities. Which ones have you spoken to?

And they seem to know much about us.

If they possess the capability to kidnap so many people - some of whom, apparently, possess very powerful abilities - I would imagine extensive knowledge of their subjects is necessary.

Repopulation seems to be the most prevalent theory; may I inquire as to what led you to the conclusion that it is incorrect?

I see. And did he happen to elaborate upon why he thought the idea so foolish, or offer any alternative explanation?

Yes, but considering the illogic of their actions if we assume that is true, I am inclined to believe him.

Perhaps the theory was created in order to placate - to some extent - the nerves of the citizens, as I can imagine quite a few other reasons for bringing people here, all of which are much more sinister.
