On Saturday, I took Oscar and Max to Archaeology Day at the
King Gillette Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains, while Anastasia stayed home with Anne. They had a great time digging up artifacts in the sand box. Oscar got to throw a rabbit stick again and also the atlatl he was too little for the last time. They seemed to enjoy exploring afterwards the most, both in the nature center and around the property. We got in a little trouble when Max was climbing on a rock outcropping. I wish we lived in an area where there were natural places where the kids could explore, the way my brother and I did when we were young. "Daddy, I had so much fun with you today," he told me at the end.
Wednesday was Oscar's ninth birthday. We didn't do much that day, since he will be having a party on Saturday, but we did work on his Lego Millenium Falcon and continue to cut the vines off the fence. Having children definitely changed me for the better.
