Because I have a feeling what has come before is only shades of what still lies down the road... She's slimey and it generally takes a flood of epic proportions to BrainBleach an entire nation into getting rid of her. So I anticipate - unfortunately - much Palin ranting. I should start planning ahead. I'll put thought in to this. And yes, that's kind of sad.
ANYWAY. Getting to the point... earlier today, my father (who was apparently bored) directed me to this nifty article at
MSNBC by Vidya Rao.
Look close now...
Can you tell me which of those two books YOU would buy?
Apparently, the two books came out on the same day, from different authors and different publishers. The covers are similar, but different, because anyone who can read will note the different titles. The pictures are similar but presumably the back covers are different.
And yet...
They are causing a bit of confusion for people who are expecting to buy Sarah Palin's memoir and are instead finding a collection of essays compiled and published by The Nation magazine. Apparently, the articles are rather critical of the woman, as opposed to the ass-kissing and bull-dog-shit-spewing memoir. And worse... it's not just consumers who are making the mistake, but businesses hoping to turn a profit off 'Going Rouge' marketing and hoping to meet Palin herself. This includes NEWS AGENCIES.
::facepalm::
This says so much about the people who voted for that woman. Thankfully, those people likely aren't on the internets and will never stumble upon my blog to discover my absolute loathing for everything the woman has already done to my country. But at the same time, I find the confusion, and the very fact that the parody exists, HILARIOUS and LOVE whoever managed to pull it off. So I had to share. 0=cD
