firstly, the keith concert tix contest drama CONTINUES!!!!!!!!! they postponed emailing winners AGAIN!!!!!!!! now it's "winners *should be* emailed sometime this week." ::shaking head::
also, verizon pissed off it's customers with this endeavor... they failed to advertise the fact that the only winners they will choose for tix are those who live within 30 miles of the venues. for keith's fans, who fly/drive/bus/walk/ride bikes/hitchhike/however they can get there, limiting it to 30 mile radius is stupid. so finally, with the single act of drawing a circle on a map, verizon has finally pissed off more people than just me. i feel so validated. 0=cD
so sum total of the day's monkeyville board activities: the organizers have supremely fucked up.
in what i hesitate to consider more pleasant news...
MacGyver has been green-lit as a real, big screen movie.
no, i'm not kidding.
the proof is here:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i68061ff8eae6a637fd4414d4747015fcaltho i can't say i have a lot of faith in this. it's from New Line, so that's promising, but come on. LD Zlotoff had a hand in the blasphemy that was 'Young MacGyver' and just one minute in to watching that you know why the thing was never aired. if anyone wants to test my theory, drop me a line and i can arrange to send you the unaired pilot to judge for yourself. (and trust me; judge you SHALL. just for starters, mac was an only child. there is no way he can have a nephew named clay. i just can't get over that glaring WTFness.) i'm not holding my breath on this one until RDA signs up for it.
and a note for sibling's benefit: more have been cast for the Airbender movie! including at least one familiar face, which makes me wonder "Wtf were they thinking?" but thankfully i don't know the show/characters, so i can't properly predict how much the addition of asiff mandvi will equate to total Fail in a movie based off a "kids tv show."
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i68061ff8eae6a6377eae1f6e889f06b2?imw=Y also, headsup: SciFi channel is becoming the SyFy channel. no, i'm not kidding. worst written article, in the history of badly written articles, can be found
here regarding this very stupid change of branding. they also say that they're expanding their definitions of science fiction programming to include " the total sci-fi landscape - fantasy, paranormal, action-adventure, mystery ... it's imagination-based entertainment." but given that the network still airs WWE... i think they're really just going to be dumbing down the offerings further than they already have. joy.
