annoyance...
we've got some stuff up for sale and somebody came by this afternoon to look at it.
i spent AN HOUR cleaning the house and running ragged to make sure that the house looked nice, the dog was behaved, and nothing would go wrong while the potential buyers were here. i'm rather motivated to sell some of this stuff and this is our only opportunity this year, most likely. tis the perfect season for it.
so when i greet them at the door, as we're waiting for the significant-other to show up, the gentleman says, "So you have a party house next door? We could smell the weed as soon as we turned the corner."
to which i force a smile and nod and say "Yes, and I must admit it's a source of great contention with me right now."
the guy nodded and grinned.
they were nice folk, seemed to be combining families and i'd love it if they would take this stuff off our hands in time for Turkey Day. i hope things went as well as they seemed to have.
and then on the way out, the guy pauses and jokes, "Think I could stop next door and get a fiver?"
Another grin from me, a nod. "Yup, I bet they'd love ya for it."
but dude.
complete STRANGERS have this impression of our ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD now. those people don't even live in this CITY.
even my sibling was red-faced with embarrassment at this point.
this is so not cool. they better freaking harvest that shit and get it gone, FAST.
and so help me if they try to grow it again in the spring time.....
