life: we has rain

Oct 30, 2008 18:47

tis raining here.  yea! rain is fun.

but even spiffier, mom and dad got obama yard signs! =cO!! TWO of them even!!! which i promptly put up.  so, uh, now they're being rained on. ::snicker:: but i has buttons, too! a red button that matches my car is now in my car, hanging from the dealies on the rearview mirror. and two lil colorful ones are on my shirt at the moment. har.  oh and since mom didn't know sibling wanted a particular obama shirt, and dad apparently forgot, sibling and i have 'students for obama' tees.  i didn't want a shirt, really, sibling wanted the tan colored "hope" tee that had obama's smiling visage in red white and blue strokes. but since the chico dem's office is closing down, they just grabbed the stuff that was still unsold. and i'm not complaining.  oh and there's a walk-a-thon that's been organized. sibling is determined to go.  i'll see if i can talk emily in to going.

other than that... uhm... still sickly and pitiful.  but i managed to clean the rec room so that i can turn it in to basically a mini study hall or something similar. i'm tired of having to work on homework on the tv-diner-trays. and the office is impossible to reclaim.  so i'm gonna turn *it* in to the "media room" by moving all the cds, dvds, and vhs tapes in to the office, and take all the books and put them on the shelves out in the rec room.  office has a very busy atmosphere, very active energy.  books don't belong in here.  and the rec room has the tv in the corner, out of the way, and it only ever has noise when sib's playing a video game. so 6 days out of the week, it's very quiet and not much energy bouncing off the walls.  it's my prefered 'nap' room on days when i'm sleepy and i've nothing better to do. so i figure the dvds and other forms of noisey media formats should reside in the office and the books should go on the shelves in the rec room.

just not so sure i'll get on the schleping back and forth task for awhile yet. i'm still waaaaaaay behind on homework and midterm exam is on monday. ::cringe:: so, uh, i'll get on that starting tomorrow and i'll stay on it till i'm ready for exam.  hopefully i'll be able to see religiulous at least this weekend tho.

halloween costume status: all of sibling's friends now have their costumes.  austin is sora, mara is kiri, kelsey is naiminai (dunno how to spell that.) all from kingdom hearts. sibling's costume is in it's last stages of completetion.  she will be roxas of Organization 13.  and they will all be going out together, of course, with keyblades and all, tomorrow night.  in the rain.  my poor mom has slaved all week for them.  staying home from work 'cause she hurt her back at it even.  she still can't turn her head side to side, and she's been to the chiropractor three times already.  not so much fun for her.  dad and i have to drive her everywhere, which is kinda fun just cause it means i always have something i can be doing, some errand or another for the costume projects.

in other random news....

m7 au fic i'm writing is now four parts long and no where near done, but the bright side is that the parts are short.  easy reads, no more marathon pieces for me.  i think i've developed adhd in my old age. ::snerk::

tv... ugly betty tonight! yea!! and crusoe tomorrow! YEA!!!! sibling still hates that show ::shaking head:: some people have no taste.  some people - ahhem sibling - also still have fifty-ish hours of tv shows to get off the DVR...

bored, family
