"World Devoured" Art Post
Art-post for my prompt at Russian Reverse-Bang (yes, guys, fic is in Russian, no, it's not gonna be translated, sorry!)

So, there are the Creators and there are the Destroyers, two races with completely opposite natures. The Creators are, basically, gods: they have powers to create parallel worlds, creatures, people, using some kind of energy from within the Earth. The Destroyers' primary goal is, well, to destroy worlds. Nobody knows where the Destroyers came from, but there's a legend that many hundreds of years ago a whole army of them invaded the Creators' world and turned it to dust. Just a few Creators managed to escape after "locking" their enemies inside their decaying world, and created a new one.
Jensen is a young and somewhat reckless Creator. Still a student of the Academy of World Designing, he felt he was ready to make his own worlds and see what else was out there, thought all those rules and restrictions his teachers imposed were stupid. So he stole his professor's timer (the device that makes travelling from one world to another possible) and ran off. He travelled for a year before he decided to come back home and start his work on his new world. He came back only to find that his home was being invaded by the Destroyers... Again.
Turns out, that legend was true. History repeated itself, but this time it was only Jensen who managed to escape, chasing Jared, a Destroyer, away from his home world. Thing is, the shock of seeing his family and then his whole world being destroyed was too much, and Jensen forgot a lot of things that happened prior to his escape. He can't remember how he met this Destroyer guy, he's sure that somewhere out there his home world still stands and it's his duty as a Creator to protect it (and any other world that Jared tries to destroy), to catch Jared and kill him.
They jump from world to world, Jared destroying, Jensen trying to clean up after him. What Jensen doesn't want to admit even to himself is that he's enjoying this ongoing chase, the adrenaline, the freedom he'd never felt before. Their opposite natures become more and more attuned (hello, co-dependence kink!) while Jensen struggles to restore his missing memories.
The story is set in a world that Jensen created as a part of his student training at home. And when he realizes (not without Jared's help) that this world is actually his creation, everything starts coming back to him slowly. A lot of stuff happens :D and they finally discover that the Destroyers were, in fact, made by a rogue Creator all those hundreds of years ago and then, the second time, restored by another rogue Creator who, incidentally, was Jensen's favourite world designer back home. That rogue Creator had been sent into exile for taking too much interest in the Destroyers, but he kept on with his work, though he lacked Earth energy to ever complete it - until Jensen by chance stumbled upon him in his travels and, unknowingly, helped him set the Destroyers free.
Jensen and Jared kill the bad guy and live happily ever after, one creating worlds, the other destroying them. The end. :D
