Before school let out I began my career of breaking into buildings in lipstick. And instead of doing anything I said I'd do this Spring Break, I took a spontaneous trip south and wasn't sober for days. I had the most wonderful time roaming around in cities I'd never seen before, getting lost trying to find absolutely nothing. I went to this bar in Philadelphia run by a man I met when he was sleeping in my dorm room (a childhood friend of Tim's who gave us free shots of everything and me the keys to the juke box). I drunkenly challenged a strange man to a game of pool, and before very long I realized that it's a tragically small world and I knew him very well. I slept that night on sheets with glow-in-the-dark Cheshire cats on them. I spent so much time watching out the windows of buses and other people's cars. I missed Tess's birthday party, as well as several days of work, but I have some lovely new bruises and a few shitty photographs to show for it. The night I came back to the city I snuck into a party for Tony Hawk (by lying and saying I was "with fancy"), which made Tim jealous (jealousy-ugly thing, I agree) but only for a split second.
It's growing dark. I better start sewing.
