I'm looking for some seriously solid shoes to garden in. I adore my garden, but it is full of very large stones and varying raised beds, poles, and other varied ground. I get muddy because I water by hand a great deal. I've heard Crocs are good, but it seems somehow unlikely to me. Does anyone have experience with them? Are there other water-friendly shoes? I've seen Keen boating shoes and my brother swears by them but again, I'm a bit uncertain.
Also, I'm writing this long series of essays. I'm writing it just because I'm enjoying it and because I'm very proud of my family's ability to make do with very little. It's a how-to about eating and feeding a family very well and easily on practically nothing. It's not a simple system, but it works. It's how I used to feed three people (one of them doing hard labor) on thirty dollars a week. I'm curious if anyone is interested in this series of essays.
