Nothing against Michael Douglas - he is a good actor and BC was fair saying that it’s good to be in the nominee list together with such an actor, but anyway I think that Emmy this year should belong to Benedict Cumberbatch for his role in “Parade’s end”…
(((
Well, every time Benedict dosn’t win an award, the fandom is very upset by the “unfairness of the universe” just because people like Benedict very much and wish that every jury simply follows two rules:
1. If Benedict’s role fits the description of the nomination, the award belongs to Benedict.
2. If jury would like to give an award to someone else, cf. rule 1 and correct the opinion.
;-) ;-) ;-)

Maybe, I don’t see some part of the fandom-iceberg. Maybe, I just watch the situation from completely different point. But… But I really cannot understand why some people say now, as a result of Emmy going to other actor, about Benedict something like “we should be very proud of him”.
Sure, we should. And, I suppose, we all are. Not because of Emmy nomination or any other competition, but because he is a brilliant actor and an amazing human being.
He - himself! - can be proud of everything he does, it’s his achievement. We - as admirers - can only be happy that he gets a possibility to choose roles and movies, play in different genres, and that he gets awards and nominations. Or unhappy, if a jury decides against our wishes. Or just hope (and wish Benedict) that next year is even more interesting and triumphant for him.
