I finally finished reading it! I did enjoy it greatly. The first few chapter were really slow and boring, but after about the 13th (out of 61) chapters or so, it really picked up. There are some overly-descriptive scenes of the sexual nature, but it does not take away from the novel too much. It really is a clever novel. There are three endings, of which I prefer the second. I suppose it's the romantic in me, but I liked the second greatly. I just realized there is no romantic icon on lj, at least for the character I use. But back to the novel, it is a modern day novel written in a Victorian style. There's something about Victorian novels...I may not enjoy parts while reading, but in the end I always enjoy them. This one, however, I enjoyed reading greatly, for the most part. Everybody should go read it; the author is John Fowles. ^^
