sit back and relax, enjoy the crash.

And lj's back! How exciting.

I had to post, simply because of that.

So, I've spent a good...oh, nearly six hours in or around the university. Admittedly, since one, I've been sitting in the cafe, supping coffee, and waiting for Olivia to return from her lecture/seminar what not with tales of Jeffrey being a wanker and so forth so we can go have lunch.

I've also been reading a lot of books on slavery and the economics of early America. Sometimes, I do wonder why I chose to do this essay. Not even picked it from a list, but actively went to our lecturer dude (who is a dude) and asked if I could do this. Not that it's uninteresting, it's just somewhere between brain imploding and really, quite depressing.

I'm currently reading a chapter which is irrelevant to my essay, as it's before 1812, really, but is damn interesting. Also. Every time I read 'James Wilson', there's only one person that I imagine, and that's hilarious.

I am, however, starting to wish I'd brought a pencil and some sticky bits.

Last essay, though. I plan to get it finished by Friday. Call your bets NOW! for when I actually do. Also taking bets on how many procastination based posts I make between now and then.

In other news, Swiss historians should never attempt to tell jokes about Leonid Breshnev. Or at least, he should have attempted to weave them into his fabric of the lecture, rather than have a wonderfully tangential (totally a word) moment with 'oooh! Oooh. I forgot to tell you some of the good Breshnev jokes!' However, when talking about the Moscow Olympics, and the countries that boycotted, his 'and to my shame, Switzerland' was a brilliant moment.
