Well, that was a rough commute. There was the normal crowd of idiots blocking the entrance the building, but I had to push and shove more than usual to get out. I walked around the corner of the building to get to my bike, and was shocked at how empty the street was. I swear I saw a tumbleweed roll by--completely deserted. Fire up the bike, put on my helmet and gloves, look up to see the crowd of idiots approaching en masse. WTF?

Hop on the bike, start to ride across the sidewalk to get down onto the street, and the closest idiot grabs my arm and tries to pull me from the bike. Fuck that noise, throttle up and a good kick sends him back into the crowd, knocking a few of them over. Stop at the light for the intersection with Cambridge St., fiddling with the ipod while I wait, when something twitches in my peripheral vision. I look over to see another crowd of idiots approaching, all staring at me like I have two heads. I guess there must be an idiot convention in town this week, damn there sure are a lot of them.

The light turns green, so I ride off. It seems like everywhere I look, I see milling groups of idiots that perk as they notice me. The roads are otherwise empty, so I start ignoring traffic signals and just swerving around the groups of idiots standing in the roadway, not slowing.

I finally near my house, the neighborhood is completely deserted, no cars, no people, nothing. The cable seems to be out, too. Very strange, there are always at least some idiots about on my street.

All for the best, I guess, I really should get the EX roadworthy again so I can get it inspected tomorrow on my way into work.

I do wonder what is going on, though.
