I'm surprised that in the US you only get 6 UNPAID weeks after childbirth, I could totally be wrong and maybe is just a generalization. but…
WTF?
I live in a third world country with many many issues and I get 12 weeks FULLPAID! and I can even decided when to take them. In my case trying to wait as far as I can or May 30th (whatever comes first) and take the rest of the weeks off when the baby is born. Although Rich works on his own, if he was an employee he could get at least 2 pay days off work, some companies in here even give the father a whole week. At my brother's office they even get a baby bonus, I ignore how much money it was but still is something.
I'm writing about this after reading about postpartum depression in the US and the little help woman are getting, it really amazes me than in first world country like the states this stuff still happens.
