Well lots has been going on, which is exactly why I can't keep up with my journal! I went to Eastman yesterday with 2 people who live down the hall from me. I took a bus to their library (which, I've been told, is the second largest music library in nation!) and I checked out a piece of music that I need for my THREE auditions!! I have two auditions tomorrow for Orchestra and Wind Symphony and one Friday (on my birthday) for Eastman lessons. I also went to Todd Union and took out a practice room key so yesterday I went to look at them and discovered just how sketchy they are. And lots of people have been practicing their instruments in their rooms, so I might end up doing that to annoy the people down the hall who I now hate. I don't feel like getting into details, but yeah. One computer science kid down the hall I've started to hang out with a lot, as well as some random people I've met (like these identical twins!!) in the main freshman dorms (Susan B. Anthony dorms. I'm in Gilbert). Some people are really cool so I've been in a good mood lately.
We register for our classes today at 3 pm!! Just an hour ago I decided that I want to sign up for Intro to Arabic and Calc 161. I had a lot of trouble choosing which math class to take bc I kept getting different advice from everyone. But I guess it doesn't matter so much if I do choose a course that's too hard bc I can always switch to Calc 141. Classes start this Thursday and Friday (which, I'll remind you again, is my 18th B-day!!)
My parents want to bring me home this weekend bc I'm assuming they're worried that I'm going to party at the frat quad or something. I've been really good, honest!! I'm seriously going to stick to my studies this year and no boys. I SWEAR. I just can't wait for my first exam so I can hopefully show my parents that I'm truly interested in doing well at UR. Sure, I'm still a little bit crazy, but I WILL BE IN THE LIBRARY if you're ever on campus and want to find me. Speaking of the library, I picked up an application to work at the Arts and Music library maybe 10 hours a week (it ranges from 6 to 20 hours).
Last note, I have already started off on the right foot!! Check out this site:
