B&N Educator Appreciation Event & An Invite to K-2 Teachers/Librarians
Last Saturday I had a booksigning at my local B&N for Educator Appreciation Day. I sold a bunch of books, handed out teacher guides and activity sheets for Star of the Show, and had the pleasure of meeting Lucienne Diver, author of Fanged. ***If there are any K-2 teachers or librarians who have my latest picture book, Star of the Show, and want the activity/coloring sheets and teacher's guide, just contact me through my website and I'll be happy to pop them in the mail. I worked on these activities with two first grade teachers and a Library Media Specialist, and they're gotten very good feedback. It is my hope that you'll use Star of the Show with your K-2 classes, and enjoy the accompanying activities that focus on such areas as ELA - alliteration & creative expression, MATH - telling time, SCIENCE - researching an animal, LIFE SKILLS - conflict-resolution & role-playing, SELF - ESTEEM - 'Everyone's a Star' Bulletin Board, and suggested activities for a CULMINATING EVENT -"Star of the Show Talent Show' with fun ideas for talent show, refreshments, hula hoop contests, stuffed animal toss, pin the nose on the clown, face-painting, etc. ***
