Running by to do a small update.
Recently I attended Anime Vegas and boy was it was awesome! I never thought anything could be so fun, really. Normally, I always just attended one day of the convention and never really had any fun, but now that I have experienced all three days of the con I can't wait to go back next year! Hopefully, by then I will know more people that know anime so I can attend with them. As a brief overview of some of things I enjoyed and some of the things I didn't/ The Hetalia Panel (which was the main reason I attended) was great! I never laughed so much in my life. The cosplayers were friendly which is a plus for me because I am easily turned away from people that are rude and kind of get discouraged about interacting with them again. I even managed to win myself a Spain Badge when the cosplayers were throwing out trivia. The question was for Spain: Who did Spain beat in the finals of the World Cup? And I basically raised up my America flag (yeah, kinda weird there) and shouted out Netherlands.
I couldn't let anyone get that badge! And I feel like crap because I knew the answer to the Romano question, but I doubted myself and instead let the China cosplayer get it. I was so upset -- could of had one of my OTP. Anyway, after the panel we had a photoshoot, of course, and I got to say the most memorable cosplay outfits to me was the Hungary from Austrain Sucession and the America cosplayer (the one that was slightly smaller then the rest) the quality of their costumes were superb and it made me jealous that I hadn't dressed up myself -- financial situation kind of got in the way of that.
After the panel me and my friend had left, cause we had to get ready for the ball later on in the evening. So I dressed casual, dark dress and all, and we came back and watched the amv contest. Nothing in particular really stuck out to me as being fantastic, a few funny moments here and there, but nothing special. All in all it was two hours of blah to me, accept that one samurai/ninja amv, I'll admit that was cool! The ball was okay, I was kind of shy about dancing with people so I kind of avoided it. The host were were the entire Sailor Moon Cast and they were really friendly and nice! It was hillarious the number of people (both boys and girl) lined up to dance with Tuxedo Mask! Sailor Moon must have been jealous. Anyway, Masqerade Contest was interesting -- the applauds for Russia was astounding! I thought the roof was going to cave in the from the sheer volume of it. I don't remember much about who won, but I do know that Alois Trancy from Kuroshitsuji took home the title of King!
I still have lots to talk about from the con, but I have I'll have to save that for later, haha.
