Has anyone out there seen/adore Carl Sagan's novel "Contact" or the Jodie Foster film of the same name?
Well my great friend babitzka has created a community devoted to "Contact", and it needs members, devotees or just passerbys! Please feel free to join!

In Carl Sagan's novel "Contact," December 31st, 1999 was the day that Ellie Arroway traveled through time and space via The Machine. Today, December 31st, 2008, it is Activation Day forproject_argus ! It's a perfectly fitting coincidence; I didn't even realize it until going to bed at 4 AM this morning, after re-entering all the image links for the custom Contact mood theme that I made- which is also present in this journal as well. (When I figure out how to share it, I'll put it up for download.)
I am very proud of these accomplishments, so go join project_argus !
P.S. It is an excellent film, so I encourage you to go and see it! Everyone in the Whoniverse should be very intrigued, as it is about the...universe!
I know I'll be posting some Torchwood/Contact fic in some form or another.
