Russian alpine-skier Alexander Khoroshilov gained the historic victory! He is just cool!:-) That's a long and not easy way for this victory. And now he won the World Cup stage in slalom.
He was born in the small town of Elizovo in Kamchatka. That mysterious place where you can feel the breathe of the Earth itself. Smoke, ashes and flame!:-) Avachinsky active volcano (aka Avacha), Koryaksky volcano, Mutnovsky volcano, Gorely volcano and Klyuchevskaya Sopka boggle your mind! Let alone the Valley of Geysers! And one of the best russian alpine-skiers Varvara Zelenskaya was also trained among all this volcanoes and geysers. There is a cable way with a red foots right on a volcano's side, where training base is located.
I hope that our alpine skiing will cheer up! And not only Marcel Hirscher, but also our guys will be the ones to be proud of. And i hope the ethos of sport will help to see Russia another way. Another day.
BTW, also watched 'The Fool' movie by Yuri Bykov. Actually it's the reduced to an absurdity story of the country falling to ruin. And just nobody among all authorities or people gives a damn about it. But some 'nobody' really appears and becomes the main hero. He tries to help people, but pulls public anger on himself. You can't help the one who doesn't want it. Otherwise, you will be beaten or killed. In brief, this movie is good to think over. But i think that a seamy side of a people and the whole situation is too exaggerated.
