Florida Fish

Hello all, how's life? Florida has been quite relaxing...its a lot like Hawaii except with a weird southern twist. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really expecting the southern twist...I dunno why, I'm definitely waaaaaaaay far south (almost as far south you can be in this state).

The only oddity that's occurred is that tons of dead fish have been washing up on shore over the past few days. The first day we were here we saw like, four dead fish, then the next day there were about ten, and then tonight when we went to the dock to look at the sunset (against my wishes, believe me...fucking sunsets) the entire shore was littered with them...there were hundreds! According to this news article, they all died cuz of red tide...Thats cool. I felt really healthy after I heard that, since I've been swimming in the ocean every fucking day. But red tide only affects people with respiratory conditions, and since my parents are respiratory therapists, I figure I'm in good hands if my lungs decide to turn on me.

I have fun judging people in different states and making really broad generalizations that are totally wrong... wanna here some I'd make of Florida?

1) The politics here are divided, about a 70/30 ratio in the area I'm in. One second I'll see a bumper sticker like: MOB, Mother's Against Bush, and the next I'll see a fucking confederate flag. Ew. Those should be outlawed, and I mean it.

2) Ugly guys get with hot girls, because everyone here marries for money.

3) There are a lot of old people here (duh) and pretty much all of them own the bumper sticker: Like Your Freedom? Thank a Vet!

4) There are no independent stores, only chains.

5) Teens here are the quintessential product of suburbia...the suburbs here are totally flat, and the only things surrounding the area are various chains and schools.

Thats all I can think of right now, but I'm sure more will come to mind later.
