Listening to iTunes on random can have exciting consequences! Madonna's Express Yourself fading into Deadstar's Highway 31 sounds surprisingly incredible!
Anyway, I've been invited to a judge a music competion! Double-yoo-tee-eff, I know. But it's really exciting! And some bands have sent me their demos, under the mistaken impression that I'm influential or something. So I'm cutting back to two days a week at Borders soon, and am really going to try and get this freelancing ball rolling. I've applied for the few jobs I've found that sound interesting, but it's been a trip to Rejection City for me.
I went shopping with Jake yesterday, and finally found something to wear. A pair of jeans. Not very dramatic, but it's a start. Jake and I decided we were ladies of leisure, and had a liquid lunch. It was amazing! If you were working, it wouldn't be enough, but for a shopping day, two martinis each sustained us until dinnertime at 6.30! I highly recommend it to you and all your friends.
A surprisingly busy weekend of adventures coming up. On Friday night, I was hoping to see Deloris' support slot for Bluebottle Kiss at The Annandale, before racing across town to meet Hayley at The Gaelic to see Ben Kweller. Both of those plans have gone bung, as I'm going out to dinner for Kelly's twenty-first (not that I'm complaining, I'm just explaining the change of plans). Saturday night is Bron's twenty-first, which will hopefully involve much karaoke. And then Sunday, I'm travelling back up the coast for Hayley's twenty-first! And somewhere in there, I need to find the time to clean my room: it's such a mess.
