Supernatural 4.2
I cannot wait to see how this season develops. I love love love that Castiel is creepier than any demon they've run across. Upon reflection, it's not surprising the PTB went this direction, but I am glad they're going with angels as warriors rather than guardians. And the actor for Castiel, oh man, so great at being not-human. This is a guy who's never been mortal, will never be mortal, has no conception of mortality. Unlike the demons, who in this mythos, have all been mortals. So they fit back in quite easily. Love the contrast! Though, I always thought (and I'm probably wrong since my religious education is nonexistent) Azazel was one of the fallen angels, so what that says about him...
More in terms of the episode itself: I was happy that Hendrickson seemed to have a good grasp on his ghostly powers. Considering he only found out about all this supernatural jazz about a day before his demise. I don't know, that just made me happy. :)
Poor Dean, your issues are showing again. And I still love how Sam's the one who's always had faith in some kind of higher power, and he's the one going evil. While Dean gave up on that idea (and who could blame him?), and he's the one getting tapped for the forces of good. Just...yes. Can't wait to see how that plays out. Because Dean proved he'd do anything to get Sam back and it seems Sam tried, failed, then went for revenge. Killing all evil, probably in Dean's name, but giving up on the idea of him returning. It'll be interesting to see how that dynamic plays out.
Prison Break everything:
Haha, so I watched
this vid by
sdwolfpup, and yes. I got caught up on the first three seasons in as many weeks. I understand there are flaws, but I'm still in the happy-new-show-shiny! stage, and all is good. And honestly, after so many sci-fi shows, etc, a logic flaw or plot hole here and there don't even register.
So now that I've justified myself (I know, I know), this week's episode! Love how it was all about how Alex and Michael should screw the other to save themselves--complete with oks from the other characters--but they don't. That's really all I had to say about that. I just...glee! Alex and Michael, not betraying the other!
New season of Chuck:
Huh. I think I must've missed some episodes, because I don't remember anything with the big scary guy (Cole? Was that his name?) and the Intersect chip thingy. So half the episode I was going, bwah?
Then...ok. So the entire concept is ridiculous and comic bookish, but last season they played it straight. At least how I remember it. Yes, it was funny, but it wasn't the overboard ridiculousness they had last night. And the stunts were really bad--like when big & scary was throwing Chuck around, and it was painfully obvious he was on wires. Urg. I hope they calm back down from that. And wtf with Chuck coming back in with the swat team? All commanding? No, just, no.
Did love Casey though. Had a little bit of Jayne there at the end.
NCIS:
Got the band back together! (I will forever have Ben Browder's voice in my head saying that whenever this plot shows up.)
Oh Tony, I love you and your sea madness. I adore these characters oh so much! That said, Ducky was sadly lacking in this episode. As was Ziva--I dunno. She was there, but it felt like she just as easily could've not been. ::shrug::
But now they're all together again and I'm looking forward to next week so much! Especially with Lee being evil, what the?! Lee?!! Has she been evil all this time?
Pilot for the Mentalist:
While I was on the CBS site catching up on last night's NCIS, I checked out the pilot of the Mentalist. It was...interesting. I think I'll keep watching, but I'm not holding my breath for anything wonderful. The only character that was interesting was Patrick. Lisbon could've been, but--she was in the first season of Prison Break too, and I never could get into her character there. The actress isn't very charismatic I think. Meanwhile, the other agents might as well have been FBI 1, FBI 2, etc. Hopefully they'll get more developed in the next episode.
Has anyone else watched this? I interpreted it as maybe he's lying about having lied about being psychic. Or that maybe he hadn't been, but now is...something. Like yes, it's all very plausible that these are all tricks and he's just highly observant and intelligent, but I got the impression that it could also be more--that they're leaving that option open. Which is the main reason I want to see more. Did anyone else get that, or am I making stuff up?
Sadly, they haven't posted the full second episode yet, just clips.
Atlantis:
Hrm. So I haven't actually watched any episodes since...I think the last one I saw was the one where Rodney gets the brain bug. ...Yeah.
The thing is, I know we're going to buy the dvds when they come out, so I'm not particularly inclined to watch it right-now-omg! I'll catch up later. And, if you couldn't tell, I'm not particularly sad that it's been cancelled.
Because I was always more about the potential of this show anyway. The whole frontier aspect, the 'we're the disposable heroes' aspect, that renegade fringe thing. And they've lost more and more of that attitude through the seasons. And with the constant cast changes--it's like the show never got a chance to hit its stride. I was always far more in love with the fandom--for me,
miss-porcupine IS canon. And absolutely everyone I've met through Atlantis fandom has been wonderful. I'll miss that more than the show, as people start drifting to other interests.
