It does not help that I need to finish reading this book about working women in medieval-early modern England and then write a 5-6 page paper on it due Tuesday when I keep wanting to write fic about it!!
Seriously, this one chapter about the ale-brewing and selling trade? Teyla and Rodney would be in business together, running the ale-house. Teyla would really be the driving force behind the ale-house, but she needed a man's name on paper to improve her credit (economically and socially) and he's educated and keeps meticulous records and no one's been able to get the better of him in the courts. Then Ronon would be the guy they hired to help distribute the ale and to track down the people who owed them money and make them pay, and then John would be the stranger they take in even though the officials frown on vagrants, because there's something about him. And Rodney jokes about making him one of the serving wenches.
...Don't think my professor will let me turn in a 6 page fic...
