Just watched the Atlantis ep Inferno.
I do believe this is my favorite episode of this season. Putting aside the wonderfulness of McShep, all of the characters had great interactions and significance. I think this is one of the best written episodes so far.
Very strongly reminded of Herculaneum and Pompeii. I know Pompeii's better known because it's so well preserved while Herculaneum gets overlooked, considering it's got a new city built right on top so no way they'll ever be able to excavate the whole thing...ok, end of Rome rant. But I was really reminded of the way they think the people of Herculaneum reacted: going to the docks, possibly hoping for ships or for the water to protect them. It really hit me with the family Teyla and Ronon were saving, the way they were all lying curled around each other since that's how they found a lot of the skeletons positioned.
And there were really too many great lines with Sheppard and McKay to even list. Just...yeah...too many.
Yup, this episode made me happy. Between this and Ripple Effect I'm surprised my head didn't explode.
