So after being gone for sux months I'm finally back to posting on my Live Journal. After my last demotion at work, which I did'nt deserve, I kinda went into hiding. Since then I've had a few bumby moments in my life but I feel I've been getting things back on track. So where to begin...
After getting my underserved demotion and five thousand dollar paycut I went into a depresion (for lack of a better term). For three months I was easily agitated, always had a begative attitude towards everything, and was'nt motivated to do anything. It put a terrible strain on the friendships I built with my friends, and most importantly, it put my marriage in jeopordy. In early December 2005 my wife called my dad to inform him of my situation. That night my dad called me and lectured me for about an hour and a half. I apologize to my friend Dan who was at my house at the time. At the time I was angry that Pam called my dad but upon reflexion many of the things my dad said to me were true. I then started to get things back in proper order so that I could be happier with myself.
The first major change I made was to quit Legend of the Five Rings. This freed up a lot of time and money. The one downside to this was that my friends prettyt much stopped calling me all together. I can probably count on two hands the number of phone calls I've recieved from friends since the start of 2006. I try not to let it get to me, afterall, who likes going out with friends anyways...
The big change was my poker group. Although it was not intentional it would appear that I am the organizer of our poker games now. I don't mind it really; it gives me something to work on and devote some positive energy towards. I have plans for our group to make the experiance more positive for everyone but I'll get into those details in a seperate post in the days ahead. All good things!
The third major change, which was a recent on, was quitting World of Warcraft. It's amazing the impact that quitting a computer game has had on me. The night I uninstalled the game I paced for four hours because I had nothing to do. Although I have overcome this problem I can't help but look back and laugh. Now the only computer game I play is single player Diablo 2. It gives me something to do while Pam is at work or doing homework.
Today I have a much more positive outlook on life. I have moved myself into a job where I finish work at 2pm giving me most of the day to do with as I please, my relationship with my wife has never been better, and although my friends don't really call me, I've come to realize that I'm probably not that interresting to talk to or hang out with anyways. I plan to post often enough in the journal from here on out so keep an eye on this page and I look forward to reading any comments you guys might post. Until next time!
