floodland 2005
well. i have not had access to internet nor a phone for a matter of days. no outside contact. the other day, my house was flooded. a freak accident caused by a bottle of mouthwash falling off of the toilet, causing a pipe (a cheaply plastic-made one at that) to burst. buckets of water burst out of the pipe, seeped through the floor and came through the ceiling of the dining room, seeped through that floor and came through the basement. in a rush to call someone, the phone which was charging was ripped from the wall causing damage to the charger. so as of now i have no phone or internet access. no access to the outside world. im typing this in the basement of the main library. but anyway, after trying to find the water shut-off valve it turned out it was next door. there would not have been as much damage had it been in my house. but after going w/o water/electricity for a while, the pipe was fixed, new tiles were put in the dining room. all that remains is to restore the computer to working condition or gain access to another computer. water seeped into the roadrunner box, the monitor, kbd, mouse, etc etc, so there's no saying when internet access will be regained nor when i will have access to another phone. so if you have to contact me, basically you can't until at least a week or so.....
